and so it begins

First of all,  thank you all so much for your kind words yesterday, my heart hurts but I know it will heal with time. Sadly these are not the first kids we have been interested in adopting and I am sure they will not be the last. I am confident that it will happen and in the mean time I will continue to get our profile out there and cross my fingers.

Today is the last day of school until September. We have 67 days till school starts again, not that I am counting or anything. Actually I am not really counting  because in many ways I am looking forward to use having some lazy days and lot of time near water and with friends. The boys are finally at a stage where I can do things with other people and not worry constantly about what they are up to. They are usually getting into trouble but it is little boy trouble not real trouble.

Remind me in a month that I was looking forward to this cause I am sure by then I will have had enough of them.

Since I am such a stellar parent I forgot until this morning that since it was the last day of school I really should say thanks you to their jail guards teachers for putting up with my monsters all year and so I stopped at the bookstore after I dropped Calvin off and got them each a book for their classroom. So now I must go and get them to the school before they all disappear into the ether when the bell rings at 3:25.

Time at the cottage is always fun, time at the cottage with your siblings who you do not get to see everyday is even more fun.

there was some fishing and Fudge finally caught one.

there were sunsets
and cute kids who like to pose

and catch frogs
and paddle kayaks.
It was so much fun we are heading back this morning, it is a long drive but well worth it. Whne we get home I will have to finish the list in the last post and once our worker leaves on Monday I will have some time again. Well at least I would like to think that I will have some time but in reality I do not think that I will have any again for awhile because canning season is here and the garden is in full swing.

One week done, one to go

And I think that it is safe to assume from the looks on their faces that they are having fun. We had a busy weekend with the cousins and friends. Lots of fun was had at the beach and amusment park ( except for the spinny ride that made me ill!) and just spending time together. My sister comes tomorrow with her kids, the rest of the week will be busy with all these monkeys running around.

with apolgies to Mr. C.Moore

T’was the night before Friday when all through the suite, not a creature was speaking,
not even a cheep.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

while visions of peacocks danced in their heads.

I in my nightgown, sat down with a cap (night cap that is) and settled myself in for a long evening nap.

When out in the park there arose such a clatter, I stood from my chair to see what was the matter. A goat stood, right there on the lawn and without much ado

he told me what made him sadder.
His friends had been shorn without any warning and their fleece lay about as if we were suffering global warming
I dreamed of the spinning I could do with that fleece but was called by the children who give me no peace

The goat went away to another friend and the fleece was left for someone else to defend.

(perhaps the very nice dulcimer man who let the boys take a pic with him and entertained us at lunch on the wharf)
